The Tree of Life concept by T. R. Hamzah & Yeang for Skylon Residence explores how architecture can reconnect people with nature through ecological integration. Designed as an extension of a tree branch, the project incorporates vegetated terraces, sky gardens and ecological corridors that allow biodiversity and human activity to coexist seamlessly.
The design reflects Dr. Ken Yeang’s long-standing research into bioclimatic skyscrapers and constructed ecosystems.
Rather than separating buildings from natural systems, the Skylon Residence design proposes connected nature as an architectural framework that integrates climate responsiveness, biodiversity restoration and human well-being into a single built form.
This ecology-based approach continues the firm’s mission of “saving the planet by design”, creating architecture that functions not only as shelter, but also as part of the living environment.
